F3 Visa: Family Invitation Visa Guide
The F3 visa is a long-term stay visa granted to foreign nationals for the purpose of working, studying, investing, or living in Korea, and can be issued when a foreign national enters Korea on a family member’s behalf or upon later invitation.
Because the F3 visa is dependent on the primary qualifier’s visa, the documents you need to prepare and how to apply may vary depending on the primary qualifier’s visa type.
F3 Visa Eligibility and Process
Issued to: Spouses and unmarried minor children of the following visa holders
- D1 Visa, D2 Visa, D5 Visa, D6 Visa, D7 Visa, D8 Visa, D9 Visa, D10 Visa
- D2 visa holders must have been in the D2 visa status for at least 6 months in a bachelor’s program or higher at a domestic university.
- However, D2-1, D2-6, and D2-8 visa holders are excluded.
- E1 Visa, E2 Visa, E3 Visa, E4 Visa, E5 Visa, E6 Visa, E7 Visa
Application process
- Can apply at the same time as the principal qualifying person applies for the visa
- If the primary eligible person entered the country first
- Apply to your local Korean consulate for an F3 visa
- Family members who entered with B1, B2, or C3 visas can change to F3 visa in South Korea

- Submit a TB certificate (for applicable persons)
