It is not easy for E-7 visa holders to change to another place of work.

This is because restrictions are put in place to protect bona fide employers and maintain order in immigration.

  1. You will need to be screened for E7 eligibility for your new employer. Therefore, you need to prepare almost the same level of documents as when you first received the E7 visa.
  2. If you move before the end of the contract period, you must obtain a transfer agreement from the head of the original workplace.
    1. If you have worked until the expiration date of the contract period, you do not need to submit it.
    2. If there are reasons such as closure of the original workplace or non-payment of wages, proof documents must be submitted.
    3. If you do not receive a transfer agreement, you will have to return to your home country and get a visa again.

E-7 visa workplace change is divided into prior approval and post-report depending on the type of job.

subject to prior authorization

  1. sales clerk
  2. chef and cook
  3. designer
  4. hotel receptionist
  5. Medical coordinator
  6. Aquaculture technician, shipbuilding welder
  7. Skilled workers (root industry, general manufacturers and construction companies, agricultural and fisheries)

subject to post-report

  1. Except for the above 10 occupations, E-7 visa occupations are occupations subject to post-reporting.
  2. Within 15 days from the date of resignation, you must report the change of workplace to the competent immigration office.
  3. It is important to arrange your retirement date well, as you may be subject to fines if you are late in notifying the change.

Reporting procedure

Report to the competent immigration office within 15 days from the date of occurrence of the reason for reporting (substitute report possible)

Documents to be submitted

  1. Change of work place, additional notification form, passport and alien registration card
  2. Employment recommendation letter or documents proving the necessity of employment
  3. Employment contract
  4. Consent from the head of the original place of work (If the contract period expires or the date agreed to work, the submission is not permitted, and if there are reasons such as closure of the original place of work or non-payment of wages, it can be replaced with a document or reason)
  5. Documents related to the company of the new place of work
