D9-4 Visa Eligibility and Requirements
- Individual entrepreneurs who have remitted an investment of 300 million won or more to Korea in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act and the Foreign Exchange Transaction Regulations, and who intend to register as a business and manage a company or conduct a commercial business in Korea may be eligible for a D9-4 visa.
- Individual business owners who have invested more than 300 million won in Korea under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act and received a foreign investment company registration certificate.
- Individual entrepreneurs who previously stayed under the status of a business investment (D8 visa) can invest less than 300 million won. However, if you have lost your status as a D8 visa holder due to overstaying the re-entry period, you must meet the same capital requirement of 300 million won as a new business.
D9-4 Visa Application Process
The D9-4 visa application process is almost identical to the D8 visa application process. However, the incorporation process is omitted. If the investor is out of the country, a notarized power of attorney can be used to represent them.

D9-4 Visa Application Notes
- You must transfer your investment from your overseas bank account to your Korean bank account (no money transfer apps, virtual currency, etc.) You can carry cash into the country Customs declaration.
- The sender and recipient must have the same name
- You will need to prove your source of funds; if you cannot, your visa will be denied.
- Prove the authenticity of your business
- In the case of D9-4 visa, there are many documents to prepare and the process is complicated. In particular, all business premises must be ready before applying for the visa, so if the visa is not approved, there is a financial loss, so it is recommended to consult with an experienced expert from the first step.
